St Barts is smaller than the ranch next door to Lowecha. On landing there you would think that you are on the south coast of France….. it is, after all, a province of France. Rich French history—clung to by the residents including the primary language taught in the schools. Even with the strong French feel, there is no denying the Caribbean texture—lush, green, no large developments, warm, beautiful beaches, and even more beautiful (if that is possible) warm waters. We stayed in a small cottage at Les Mouette in the tiny village of Lorient on L’Orient Bay on the north side away from the main harbor. Quiet, quaint, lovely.
