Back when the Owens Valley was a thriving farming area the town of Laws was just one of the many stops on the railroad that went all the way to Carson City, Nevada. Today the train has no where to go, no freight to haul and Laws is a museum. They say that westerns were filmed here, certainly one starring Steve McQueen.
