Some of the bees build their hives on the OUTSIDE of the trees. The lobes of their honey cones are ready visible and accessible—vulnerable. Here Joseph is getting us some fresh—and utterly delicious—honey. The bees went after him and he ran through the bush for 100 meters or so until they left. We drove just 50 feet or so next to him so when the chase was over, he could get back in and provide us with the fruit of his efforts.
