From our canoe in a relatively open stretch of the flooded rainforest
The start of one of many ventures into the flooded rainforest in our wooden canoe.
Finding our way… blind faith in our leader……
Deet or go natural? Our native guide, Souza showing us the native approach to mosquito repellant. Place your hand on a huge ant nest; after they are all over your hand and arm (takes about 3 seconds!), then squash them all over and the ant “juice” aroma supposedly repells mosquitos. And we surmised, everything else… not an aphrodesiac….
Blazing a trail through the rainforest…. the large mammals, like the jaguar, anteaters, tapir, live on the “terra firma”
Bunny’s fishing prowess…. the largest Piranha caught by anyone…
