Moving them from the Land Rover with a lot of nudging, shouting, and prodding….. Posted on September 28, 2012 by thebunguycord Reply
There were several of these calves. It was amazing that they did not get harmed or trampled in, quite literally, the stampede of the adult buffalo. Somehow they could huddle under all the leaping, horns and feet flying, pushing and shoving. Posted on September 28, 2012 by thebunguycord Reply

Filling the trucks with 63 buffalo. The man in the yellow T-shirt is operating gates that enclose the buffalo in smaller internal pens starting in the back and working forward. The not-so-humble setting for our incredible stay at Sondelani in West Nicholson, Zimbabwe. Bunny is on the path from our cottage to the dining room. Beautiful grounds in the middle of a privately owned wildlife park. The commitment of these people to the protection of the animals against all odds and political uncertainty…… the owner of this particular place had 40,000 acres taken away from him without compensation suddenly as part of an erratic political scene with counterproductive and ultimately destructive policies. The politicians from our respective home countries may be erratic and irrational at times, but they pale in comparison to what goes on here. Posted on September 28, 2012 by thebunguycord Reply
Our very comfortable digs for two nights with a fabulous view for our retreat before and after the round-up. Posted on September 28, 2012 by thebunguycord Reply
