People still live in these incredibly charming and warm “Lower Town” streets but one suspects living there is more difficult than a day trip.

Our view from the hotel to the fortress at Monemvasia–on top of the big, BIG, rock to the right and connected to the mainland via a man-made causeway and drawbridge.
