The prehistoric Secretary Bird…. Struts its stuff….. and in so doing stirs the ground and plucks out grass hoppers and other ground insects. Strange to watch but apparently very effective. Image Reply
At the other end of the continuum….. you would not believe the small size of the water hole that this hippo lives in….. he must have to move when dry season comes in a couple of months. Image Reply
The happy little Yellow-fronted Canary chirping away. Not a lot of them around but evident when they are….. Image Reply
Tens of thousands of these critters (wildebeest or “wild beast” as the locals call them)….. rather strange looking, bearing a similarity to the American Bison, particularly with that “sore back” look when they run. Most had already migrated south but there were still a staggering number of them. Later we’ll see their Amboselli cousins….. Either way, they are the primary diet for the cats….
