Women go to great lengths to get water out here….. a few wells scattered around, no surface water, a small herd of donkeys……. When they aren’t gathering firewood (scarce!), they’re hiking to get water.

The Ngorongoro Crater National Park…… dormant volcano teeming with wildlife. Vast area, huge crater, no people in the crater because the Maasi were forceably moved to the outside walls and rim decades ago. At the end of these photos, don’t miss the Laikipia Wilderness following.
The welcoming reception area at one of the dirt airstrips where we landed in our bush plane on our way to the south side of Mount Kilimanjaro, in turn on our way to the Ngorongoro Crater National Park….. and then on to the Serengeti…..
