Our digs for last night near Rivertown. A 17th century farm Georgian house on a farm of 500 acres. This is the “new” house of about 300 years. The old house is mostly in ruins. Wonderful walks through the mature oak forests with wonderful paths. Image Reply
The old house is being slowly consumed by ivy. The old family house was abandoned in 1610 when the “new” house was finished. Some years later they partially destroyed or dismantled it because, even then, it was fashionable to have “ruins” on your property. Image Reply
