The happy little Yellow-fronted Canary chirping away. Not a lot of them around but evident when they are….. Image Reply
Tens of thousands of these critters (wildebeest or “wild beast” as the locals call them)….. rather strange looking, bearing a similarity to the American Bison, particularly with that “sore back” look when they run. Most had already migrated south but there were still a staggering number of them. Later we’ll see their Amboselli cousins….. Either way, they are the primary diet for the cats…. Including the next one. Image Reply
That’s wrong with this picture? (Consider: they are so focused on focusing their cameras that they miss what is walking RIGHT in front of them…… sort of a life story.) Image 1
This hyena dove into the carcass left behind by the lions and now, after leaving the carcass, this bloody hyena is on the search for the parts that the lions took away … but he got no closer. The lions were not about to share the remainder with this annoying hyena. Image Reply
This is one-half of the pride as they study us…. Between them and their meat….. not troubled really. Just curious. Image Reply
A staredown…… you, lowly jackal, will not make any moves toward my wildebeest meat….. and she was right, the jackal went skulking off….. Image Reply
