In a tiny little village outside of Ubud, we had the privilege of participating in a ceremony with a (rare) high priestess. Beginning with a long chanting meditation, a baptismal-cleansing ceremony, and then a private meditation with her, it was an extraordinary experience.

Literally millions of motorbikes… one way streets don’t matter. I was almost run over by a motorbike going the wrong way on a one way street.

The Hindu New Year was the week before we arrived. Every village had parades with critters like this one…. at the end of the parade every one of them was burned in a ritual to carry away the evil spirits. Every village (like this one) keeps one just in case some evil spirits were missed. By the way, this is the main thoroughfare.
