This castle–built around 1215–was a ruin for about 300 years until 1997 when a private couple undertook on their own money and labor to restore it. Quite amazing really, even though it is fairly small by castle standards. Their names are O’Donnell and Mac Carthy–the names of the original tribes in the area that first built the castle…… Image Reply
